JEFF OWEN, nationally renowned local Bay Area sculptor, and Pajaro Valley Art Council announce the Sculpture IS: 2009 In the Garden sculpture reception on Sunday May 31, 2009 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Sierra Azul Nursery and Garden, 2660 E Lake Ave, in Watsonville, CA 95076. Come by and see Jeff Owen and his sculptures in person in their natural settings, a beautiful garden!
Jeff Owen’s sculptures Energy, and Jazz, as well as 80 other sculptures from 45 juried sculptors will be on display and sale in the Sculpture IS: 2009 In the Garden juried exhibition from May 30 to October 31, 2009 during business hours from 9AM to 5:30PM. This exhibition is sponsored by the Pajaro Valley Arts Council (PVAC), “Bringing the Community Together with Arts,” the Sierra Azul Nursery and Garden, and The Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County. Proceeds of sculpture sales are shared with PVAC.

Jeff Owen is known for his unique abstract steel sculptures using found metal. Jeff Owen describes his art as the past combined into the present, mingling of age, time, and space into congruent single form, the many into one. His technique is brute force, decide-at-the-moment. His creative process emerges with patterns that he incorporates into all of my sculptures. He creates art that is completely unique, something no one has done before. He resists conformity and mass production and that his art is as individual as he is.
